The Dorm of the (boarding) School for Music Talents at Ćuprija at the present building has started functioning in 1989, and since its establishment it functions within the composition of the School and its primary function is to create optimal conditions for lodging, meals and upbringing of musically talented pupils from 6 to 19 years of age.

The Dorm is located on the surface of 2,353 m2 and has the lodging capacity of 96 rooms. There are the apartments for guests and teachers engaged for music classes as well as for the participants at winter and summer schools and master classes organized at the School; there are also 32 rooms with three beds for pupils, restaurant with kitchen, storage facilities, laundry room, boiler room, club for pupils, workshops, two rooms for educators-counselors and two halls (one is used for learning and the other for amusement as well as for workshops for the work in groups with educators). Within the School premises there is also a library and it is non-stop at disposal.

The objective of the Dorm is to provide, with its internal organization, the best possible educational environment in which the everyday life and educational activity are completely intertwined and the educators-counselors and other participants in the upbringing-educational process provide assistance to the pupils in their growing up, self-actualization and building of positive personalities.

Material conditions of the Dorm

The Dorm of the School for Music Talents is a contemporary equipped facility with the lodging capacity of 96 rooms. The entire facility is located on the surface of 2,353 m2.
– 1st floor – the rooms for boys, 16 rooms with the total surface of 160 m2, two toilets with showers, room with TV and amusement equipment and workshops (34 m2), room for educators-counselors with the kitchen and toilet;
– 2nd floor – the rooms for girls, 16 rooms with the total surface of 160 m2, two toilets with showers, room for learning, room for educators – coordinators of upbringing-educational service, with the kitchen and toilet;
– Attic – kitchen, apartment and 8 rooms for teachers and guests;
– Ground floor – restaurant with the kitchen, surface: 185 m2;
– Basement – boiler room (145 m2), workshop for maintenance of the building (27 m2), room for auxiliary staff, Club for the pupils and recreation area for the pupils (table tennis).

The Dorm also has its own sports terrain for basketball and mini football, as well as the amusement parc for younger pupils.
